Re-solution

/ˌrezəˈlo͞oSH(ə)n/

noun

1. a firm decision to do or not to do something.

I made a firm resolution to practice this verse:

“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger…” James 1:19

I experienced something that was very evil many times in my life. I could lash back with just as much evil because the devil began to play with my mind.  How does he do that? He can bring a history of wrong that was performed against you.  In my case, I didn’t see it for years.  Then, all of a sudden my eyes were open, and I saw the path of evil that creeped upon my life by an individual.

I’m just keeping it real. I wanted to tell that person all the negative things I see about them, heard about, and know about them that they don’t know I know. I wanted to hurt them like they hurt me. Yes, I was angry. But, when I confess and see the wickedness satan was trying to seduce me with. I began to think of the good things of that person.

Practicing Phil 4:8-9 is more than a notion. I also had to pray it.  Every time satan would bring up something negative they did to me, I would start praying for them.  I’m going to continue to do it until I get the victory.  They may never stop doing what they are doing, but I can stop. I can display the love of Christ.

Lesson learned…be careful of the company you keep.  Don’t mix with the worldly (2 Corinthians 6:14). Put up boundaries (Romans 12:2); Jesus did.  He even told Peter, “Get behind me satan”, and he was one of the disciples (Matthew 16:23). But, Jesus knew it wasn’t Peter, but it was the enemy using him.  Remember, it is not always the people, but the demon influence behind the person. Watch out for Jezebel spirits (highly self-centered and narcissistic, will always seek to be the center of attention, will seek to infiltrate, attack, and undermine everything (1 Kings 18-19), dividing spirits (Romans 16:17), and spirits that have returned into people making the situation worse (Matthew 12:45).

Be quick to hear the spirits voice, slow to speak when you now it is a demonic influence on a person, and slow to anger….it’s ok to be angry, but don’t let the sun go down on your wrath.

Lesson learned!
